Botanero Restaurant: Experience Spanish Tapas and Wine in Rockville

We were pleasantly surprised at the high quality and taste of the food at this restaurant. Everything we ordered was delicious, from the ceviche to the Flatbread pizza. Great selection and offers variety of cross cultural options. Kuddos for great tasting churros as well! Would highly recommend and would return.

The server was very friendly and attentive, quickly resolving a mistake with our order. We especially loved the flaming shrimp — it was both entertaining to watch and packed with flavor. The braised beef short ribs were wonderfully tender, with seasoning that hit all the right notes. The crab dip and croquettes were tasty, though they didn’t stand out as particularly memorable. I really enjoyed the seasoning on the fish, but unfortunately, it was overcooked and had a bitter, burnt taste. The seared scallop fell short as well — the texture and flavors didn’t quite come together, so I wouldn’t recommend that dish. The dining space felt quite small and a bit cramped, which made it less comfortable. On a positive note, they do have a bar with a good selection of wines and cocktails.

This is a good place to hang out with your friends. The place is small but comfy enough. Food is delicious. We ordered Thai Chicken Spring Roll, Chicken Croquette, Fried Calamari, ShrimpTempura, Fried Mozarella and Skirt Steak. All of them are good! Their service was excellent too. We didn't wait for too long for the food. Would love to come back here!

I live out of state now, but I think about this restaurant so often that I had to leave a review. The beef empanadas are my favorite. The bacon wrapped dates are also amazing. The service was always great even when I had a large party. The owners of this restaurant were also always very kind to my mom and me. I’m so glad to see their continued success!!

We hosted our small company holiday dinner at Botanero, and it was the perfect choice. The location was convenient for everyone, and the restaurant more than lived up to its great reviews. They set us up with a perfect table in the back room, which gave our group plenty of space to relax and enjoy the evening. The highlight was definitely the menu—everyone loved ordering a wide variety of small plates and sharing. There were so many options that every person on the team found several things they wanted to try, and we were all raving about the food by the end of the night. The service was top-notch and kept the evening flowing smoothly. When the bill arrived, I was pleasantly surprised; the pricing was very reasonable considering the high quality of the food and the overall experience. If you’re looking for a spot for a group event or a great meal, I highly recommend Botanero!

Everything we ate was good to great, my favorites being the Shrimp Tempura, Deviled Eggs and Brussels Sprouts. Hard to say what was reasonably priced or overly priced but the total was definitely more than I thought it would be as the tapas/small plates really add up. Our server did a great job and gave great suggestions on what to order. Probably not somewhere I would want to come all the time but nice place for a special occasion or get-together with friends.

We’ve eaten at a lot of restaurants in the US and EU, and had a lovely meal that compares with the better experiences. The food is delicious. The service was great: nice waitress, very positive, checked once and filled water once. This is perfect: there when you need them, but keen enough to let you alone to enjoy your companionship. The music level was just right: not too loud at all. The atmosphere is lively, but cool. We never felt rushed. It’s a small place, so I’d recommend reservations. Nice place for a dinner date.

The duck was delicious and fell right off of the bone, the sauce was very flavorful and the potatoes were perfectly cooked. The service was out of this world! Everyone there is so friendly. The atmosphere is quaint and festive for the holidays. Highly recommend!!
